On June 24, 2012, the micronation was founded under the name Principality of Bauralis by Léon I, future Chancellor of the Dominion.
The State declared its sovereignty over the Guest Peninsula, an unclaimed Antarctic territory at that time.
Upon proclamation, it was renamed Bauralis Peninsula.
A decree was immediately issued to formally and permanently prohibit human access, establishing the inviolable nature of this founding territory.
On June 24, 2013, to mark the first anniversary of the Principality, a symbolic gesture was made:
Mitchell Peak, a prominent summit of the Guest Peninsula, was renamed Chancellor Peak.
This renaming emphasized the centrality of the founding authority in the structure of the State.
The peak became a symbolic anchor point within Bauralis territory, without constituting a separate claim.
On June 24, 2017, for the nation’s 5th anniversary (first lustrum),
Chancellor Léon I proceeded with the symbolic annexation of Driscoll Island, located in Antarctica near the Bauralis Peninsula.
The territory was renamed Isle of Prince Léon,
in homage to the founding period of the Principality and to the figure of the founder.
The annexation strengthened the southern base of the government within a consolidated glacial logic.
On December 21, 2019, during the winter solstice,
Chancellor Léon I announced the symbolic annexation of the Valley of Ghosts,
a boreal territory located in the Valin Mountains, near the embassy.
This action marked the transformation of the State:
the Dominion of Bauralis officially became the:
The solstice was chosen as a founding moment to root the State in a balanced climatic and spatial rhythm.
On February 3, 2021, following an unusually mild January in Quebec — the warmest in over 100 years —,
the Bauralis government made an exceptional decision:
the permanent embassy in Saguenay officially became the seat of government.
By decree, it ceased to be a mere symbolic representation and became a fully integrated territory of the Grand Dominion.
It is now referred to as the Government Seat of Saguenay.
On June 24, 2020, on the occasion of the 8th anniversary of the founding,
the government symbolically renamed the Birchall Peaks, located on the Bauralis Peninsula.
They became the Ghost Peaks, in homage to the Valley of Ghosts in the North.
This symbolic gesture established an ideological vertical link between the cold southern and northern regions.
On June 24, 2022, marking the jubilee of the second lustrum (10 years of the State),
the Grand Dominion of Bauralis symbolically annexed four islands south of the Bauralis Peninsula:
This expansion completed the southern axis, now composed of the Bauralis Peninsula, the Isle of Prince Léon, Bauralis Major, Bauralis Minor, and their frozen maritime zones.
The Grand Dominion of Bauralis claims and protects the following territories:
The Chancellor Peak and the Ghost Peaks are symbolic toponyms
with no separate claim, but part of the Dominion's spatial interpretation.
